  1. clerk of courts $2 a page

  2. find out what court house they were filed in and contact them.  It will probably cost some $$, but if these papers are not yours, i don't know if you have the leagal right to them.

  3. You have to go through the clerk's office.  Unless sealed by a court, such as in the case of some adoptions, papers in any courthouse are considered public records.  If you go to the courthouse, they will let you look at the file.  If it is too far to travel, call the clerk's office and give them as much information as you can - names, approximate filing date, etc.  Most of the time they will want the money in advance so you will send it to them with a letter  explaining where to send it or possibly a SASE.  If you are looking for specific papers in the file, this is probably your best route.

  4. You go into the courthouse, show your i.d. and ask for a copy... HELLO?!?!?

  5. Call the clerk of courts number for that county and ask. They will probably send them to you for a few bux. There are some clerks offices that have online access to filings but you'd still have to pay.
