I know it's gross, but it's a fridge in a barn.

  1. scrub it with baking soda

  2. clean your fridge then put a open box of baking soda in there and it will absorb the odor

  3. Baking Soda!

  4. Take everything out of the fridge. Then clean it with some highly powerful cleanser. Then put everything back and put a box ( it doesn't have to be big) of opened baking soda in it. It absorbs odors.

  5. Oh my God! lol. Definately use vinegar or soda water to diffuse the smell, then soak up with a dry cloth. This may take a few goes to get rid of it, but it works.  Other than that, buy a new fridge or look for a free second-hand one on www.freecycle.org.

    Good luck!!

  6. I think that you should pour some vinegar into a shallow dish and leave it in the fridge overnight.  Keep doing this for a few days, replacing the vinegar daily.

We had some pretty awful smells in our fridge when we moved into our new place.  The guy that moved out left some "vegetation" and then turned the fridge off.  Might not have been "dead rat" smell, but I gagged.

The vinegar thing worked for us!!

  7. First off, eew! Second, use CLR.
