  1. Marijuana has 3 species, Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis. These species have slightly different genetics, such as a Caucasian person to a Native American, or a Nordic person to an Arab and so on. The quality and characteristics of the Cannabis strain is like the strength, eye colour, hair type, skin, ect of a human, although it works slightly different for generations in plants.

Theses species all breed with eachother and mix their genetics up and make seeds.

The new seeds have the different mixes of the parent plants, and thus a new strain (or family) is born.

Then, this new strain grows up, and breeds with another strain who did the same thing, thus creating another new strain. This process continues on and on, and is why there are an endless amount of weeds. You can also reverse-breed, kinda like

incest, to get recessive genes and make even MORE different types.

Kush is 3 or more of the same species of plant, so that would be 3 different strains of Sativas or Indicas breeding together and making a mix of all three into one, super powerful phenotype.

Normal weed is called Chinaman, and is just your basic brown and green buds. This is because this strain is so pathetically easy to grow, has huge yields and stupid people still buy it instead of higher grade stuff. Thsi isnt "normal", its just to make money.

Some of your questions lead me to assume you don't know much about biology or marijuana in general, I severely advise you to get off this site ASAP since this is a completely biased and misinformed public who use yahoo.

  2. it is like any plant. for example you can have different kinds of tomatoes but it still the same plant. (cherrie tomaots etc.) It is all about how much thc is produced. sometimes man creates plant by taking the ones with the most thc and keeps doing that to get a breed of super plant.

  3. Papagenu is the best answer. It's called selective breeding.

Sativa - Uplifting, talkative high. (the kind you want when your doing something interesting)

Indica - More of a body stone (couch lock!)

Ruderalis - Generally not that great a high, I've heard (I've never smoked it or a cross of it) This is usually crossed with one of the above as they are more suited to milder climates to get the advantage of these genetics plus the thc content of a sativa.

p.s. It's called Kush because it is named after the Hindu Kush (bottom end of the himalayas) and it is known that cannabis has been growing there for thousands of years.

  4. Papagenu knows his stuff ! thumbs up dude. ;o)

  5. evolution and climate change causing something to react in a different way in order to survive, a plant may be more potent because it was never pollenated so it produces more resin to try to catch some passing by. another thing is cross pollenation, wether intentional or accidental, so u create new spieces with new traits

  6. The different types contain different levels of THC.  As for how there are different types? Think of maple trees. There are different varieties, hard maple, sugar maple, etc but they are all maple trees.

And while you're thinking of acquiring your marijuana of choice, you might also think of all the different types of prison cells.. whether you will share a cell with one or more persons, be in solitary confinement, or be confined in a secured housing unit.

  7. Oh but it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo goood.     LOL

  8. Yeh, there's different types and you many times get what you pay for. Many strains are manmade hybrids. Some is grown hydroponically (no dirt or seeds) , and that's what they call 'dro' sometimes. Better quality marijuana has a higher THC concentration as well as usually more pungent smell and pleasing taste. But it's gone quick too. Stick to mids for the best bang for your buck.
