  1. I had the same problem and went on Internet to look for answers and I found out that using to much detergent causes the white film on dishes.

  2. Use Jet Dry or cascade. White vinegar also helps. Try putting just a TINY bit of dish washing soap; Ajax works really well. And go for lemony detergents. I use 'lemi shine: the hard water expert!' That's what the white film more likely than not is... it's hard water. It comes in a smaller container, and for the price it might not seem worth it, but I had that same problem, and once I started using Lemi Shine it went away. It's also a dishwasher cleaner. I love it. Try it :)

  3. I have found that Cascade, Action Pacs work the best. I have tried other things, and I still had the film. I tried Vinegar, Lime-A-Way, they didn't work. The Action Pacs are Super Good. I hope this helps.

  4. I think maybe it's your detergent leaving residue? I've switched detergents many times and it seems to work for a short while. Suggestions:

    1. Use Jet Dry

    2. Pour vinegar in your dish washer before the start of a load

    3. Make sure the food collection basket and any jets aren't clogged

    4. Switch to a liquid if you're using a powder

    Hope that helps!
