How do you get dried paint off of carpet?

You can pick as much of it out as possible then snip the carpet fibers with the rest, grab a hair brush and redistribute the carpet fibers and no one will be the wiser.

Go to a hardware store and ask for a product called "Goof Off" They won't laugh at you as this is widely available and is usually in the paint department and is made for just that reason.

depends on what kind of paint it is, water or oil based.

if it's water based, then soap and water will work just fine.

if it's oil, you might want to start with a carpet cleaner, maybe a oxyclean.  then keep getting into harsher chemicals like paint thinner and acetone.
