  1. I often have this same problem.

First completely shut down your computer.

Then get a microfiber cloth...the kind you use to clean glasses. And some lense cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the cloth and wipe down the screen.

Never ever spray any type of liquid directly on the screen.

  2. yeah, my brother does that to my laptop. Didn't they give u a display cleaning cloth whae u got your computer? It should of been in the box. Ok, if u don't have one u could buy. There like 3-5 dollars. it removes the fingerprints and dust.

  3. lol sry but my little sis does it too use a soft cloth with a small dap of water and gentely rub it on the screan.

    hope it helps ^-^

  4. never use glass cleaner!!!  use either distilled water or rubbing alcohol, with a diaper quality cotton cloth, wipe the screen from side to side{never in circles} alcohol will remove stains, but turn off computer, it can be flammable.

  5. A clean laptop screen is a must if you don’t want to be distracted by dust particles and grubby fingerprints whilst you work, however it is equally essential that you don’t use any old cloth that comes to hand, or paper towels, or toilet tissue or indeed any rough material to wipe it clean.

Laptop screens are very sensitive and should be handled with care, if you don’t treat it properly you are likely to scratch it and damage it permanently. Knowing how to clean laptop screens, or indeed plasma screens and other sensitive monitors effectively is not difficult, you just have to know what works and what doesn’t.

How to clean a laptop screen

You could try purchasing the dedicated cleaning solutions and wipes that are available on the market as these will clean a laptop screen without harming the delicate protective surfaces of the screen. However, these can be quite expensive to use on a regular basis so if you prefer, you can do it yourself.

The only type of cloth that you should use to produce a sparkling clean laptop screen is cotton and the only safe solution is a mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, you can use half in half of each. Tap water or other types of water are not suitable and neither are other types of alcohol so make sure you get it right.

First of all turn off your computer, not only for safety purposes, because also because it will allow you to easily identify all the marks on your screen. It’s important that you don’t scrub or press hard in order to remove any stubborn marks; a clean laptop screen requires patience and a gentle touch.

Dampen the cotton cloth with the solution and gently wipe away all the marks. A good way to do this would be to start at the top left hand corner and wipe down towards the bottom left hand corner and continue along until finally you wipe from the top right hand corner to the bottom right hand corner.

Regardless of how you do it, the most important point here is not to touch the screen with your fingers whilst cleaning it and to resist the temptation to apply too much pressure. Finally, ensure that the screen is completely dry before closing your laptop or before turning it back on.

Your laptop screen will now look like new again and you can enjoy a clean screen once more.

On a final note, just make sure you dont let your kids do it.

  6. Wipe them off with a clean cloth and some solution that wont harm your screen.  Sometimes windex sometimes rubbing alcohol....you can get special LCD screen cleaners from office stores as well as video/tv stores.  Best buy....etc.

If you try cleaning solutions like windex, try it in a tiny corner...spray the cloth first...then apply cloth to screen.

But I would suggest screen cleaner solution from the video/tv store office store etc...

That way it is made for cleaning LCD screens and such.

  7. use a soft cotton cloth little wet with any house hold cleaning agent.

    such as glass shield cleaner.
