And I've read there's a shopping centre near Charles de Gaulle airport. What's it called and how far away is it?

If you can rent a car it will be much shorter than that, expect 1h30 if there are no traffic jams (depend on the time of the day). The shopping center you're talking about might be "Rosny 2", maybe 15 min far.

Be aware that Beauvais airport is nowhere near Paris.

You must first take the RER B from CDG to the Gare du Nord stop.

You must then buy a ticket on the TER (regional train) to the town of Beauvais. The trip takes about 1 hour 15 minutes for the direct train.

From Beauvais itself you then take a taxi to the airport. Taxis charge a fixed price of 11€ during the day (7AM to 7PM except sundays & bank holidays) or 15€ at night.

You should expect this trip to take almost three hours.
