How do you get green eyes?

Ok so this may sound stupid but i was wondering..

How do people get green eyes? I know that whole XY chart with the alleles but that doesnt explain where green eyes came from? My dad has blue eyes and my mom has brown eyes and i have green eyes..

can anybody explain this to me =]

Genes. My eyes were dark brown all my life until I made my 20th b-day. Now my eyes are green and I love it!

Me too. My mom has brown eyes and my dad has blue eyes. BUT my grandpa from my dad's side had green eyes, so I guess that's where I get my green eyes from.

could have been a reccesive trait. or it could have been incomplete dominance. or it could have been a gene affected more than one trait...polygenic inheritance i think it is
