  1. Check your local laws. It depends on the type of homeschooliyou do and where you do it. You have to go by what your local law states.

  2. To start the process, find out your state's laws.

Here's a list of the requirements state's use to regulate homeschoolers:

You can find the laws for your state at http://www.hslda.org

The next thing you do is choose a homeschool curriculum.  Start by reading about the different homeschooling methods:

Many highschoolers who have been in traditional schools prefer computer based homeschooling:

    Or traditional textbook programs:

If you decide to homeschool, your parents will issue your diploma when you complete your high school requirements.

    Good luck!

  3. have no friends

Your mum de-registers you from school.

In some places, that means her filling out a form and in other places, she just needs to write a letter telling your current school that she is withdrawing you and that they should remove your name from the school register henceforth.

    > How to start the process?

    Talk to your parents.

Do some research - try the HSLDA website for details of any mandated courses, subjects, number of 'school' days etc.

Research and decide what sort of homeschool philosophy/programme you'd like to follow. These include:

    Unschooling

    Natural Learning

    Classical Homeschooling

    Eclectic Homeschooling

    Charlotte Mason Homeschooling

    Montessori Homeschooling

Bible-based, Discipleship and Identity forming homeschool

    The Moore Homeschooling Approach

    The Reggio Emelia Approach

    School-At-Home

    Distance Education incl. online school

    Unit Studies

    Waldorf Homeschooling

    Enki Education

    Mini-schools and Resource Centred Learning

Check out available resources; curricula; local homeschooling support groups; co-ops; what, if any, access you'll be entitled have to to public school facilities/events etc etc

Oh and learn to ignore/laugh at stupid remarks from dorks who have nothing but exhausted stereotypes to draw on for their knowledge of home-ed and homeschoolers.

    > Do you still get a diploma?

    Yes, if you want one.
