Me and my sister have started to paint. Our parents buy us tons of canvases but i have no clue what to paint. SO far i've painted flowers w/ butterflies, and a sunset, and a lot of abstract (abstract is not my thing, it was pretty ugly). but i have no clue what to paint. I really want to paint though.

  1. Try doing some "master studies."  Pick one of your favorite famous paintings and go for it!  You will learn so much trying to master what the masters did. . . that you will kick-start your ideas. . . I swear!  A variation on this idea is to change a famous painting.  How about Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring with glasses?  Or Van Gogh's bedroom with an x-box in it?  Or Monet's poppy field with you or your mom or someone you know walking in it?

    There you go! . . I know you have some ideas brewing now. . . . .  :-)

  2. My Sister and I.etc

  3. I like to paint scenes that I see. I live on a canal so I've painted scenes from that. I've painted playgrounds like the slides and stuff. There's a lot of neat old fashioned stuff around the village near where I live. Stuff like that. I enjoy portraits also.
