How do you get internet onto your Labtop??

Question

I'm about to get a labtop soon and was wondering how to download internet onto the labtop.I'm getting a White MacBook by the way.My friend told me that you are supposed to get a internet disk thing and pop it into your labto or something like that.I want to know before I get a labtop....thanx!! :P

go to start then roll over 'connect to>' and then choose ur connection

if you have a router and a DSL hooked onto another computer and your new com has  wireless internet  built in it then search for that router and then your done.

All the Macs already have a wireless card installed. Once you switch it on it will automatically pick up any networks in the area. You'll need to set up your own internet network in your house so your laptop will pick up your network. You can do this either with an internet modem with a router or any modem with an ethernet connection. Connect it to an Apple Airport Express (which pretty much works the same way as a router) and then set up your network.

Your Macbook will then pick up the network by which you'll have to log on with your password and voila - internet access! On the top toolbar next to the volume setting icon (on the left) is the wireless signal icon. Click on it and it'll bring up a list of available networks in the area. You'd be able to log onto any of them provided you have the password or a network itself has no password. You'll also be able to create a network through here.

Of course you can just connect your modem with an ethernet wire directly to your Macbook or any USB modem.

You will not need to install anything as Safari (the Mac internet browser) is already installed. But if you wanted to use another internet browser as well such as Mozilla Firefox you'll have to download it yourself.

Don't worry too much about it. Macs are the easiest computers to use and provided you already have a network you'll be able to jump on the web immediately.

You get it the same way you get internet on any other computer.

i.e. connect through a wireless network or plug it in to a network with an ethernet cable.

You don't download the internet to your laptop. You just connect it to a router that is connected an internet line, either wirelessly (which the Macbook supports very well) or via an Ethernet or USB cable.

Ok first off, all computers come with an internet browsing program. You will just need to setup your internet service at home and connect your computer to either a modem or router and that should be all you need to do. There may be additional steps but that will depend on who you have for your internet provider and they will provide you with any further instructions.

If you're getting a MacBook, Safari, your internet browser, is already on the computer when you get it. There shouldn't be any installation cds required.

I don't think you are going to need to install anything if you are getting a Mac, it comes ready with internet and wireless internet.

you should be able to connect to the web via a ethernet wire (similar to ur PC).  you can also connect via a wire card (can be found @ cell phone stores/electronic stores).

you can also buy a wireless router; like that u can use it around the house.  not sure where u leave but most cities now have wifi so u can connect FREE
