  1. um... Join ballet and do your best!

  2. you could always take the seasonal programs from the big time ballet companies. i.e: ABT, Joffrey, San Francisco Ballet (that just hit the east, west and middle)

not sure where you live but all these companies offer different programs that help you get your foot in the door. You start off doing that and impress them. work your butt off in every class and trust me they'll notice. They usually have an audition for the company after or sometime around the program. Audition if they haven't already asked you to.

you can also look for auditions and just jump right into it. But you may have a better chance by doing the program so they can really see what kind of dancer you are and your work ethic.

it's hard work and you may go through some rejection but just keep your head up and your heart strong and go for it.

    stay healthy too.

    good luck hun

  3. Enroll. Show what you got. Be professional. Don't listen to other people who tell you that you have zero chances of going pro. Just because she was not able to become a professional dancer doesn't mean you can't be. That's just wrong. You don't need a certain body type to be a ballet dancer. Naima Mora from America's Next Top Model started ballet dancing when she was 18 and she became a professional dancer before she became a top model. So forget the girl's answer and follow your dreams. See you on the stage! ;-)

  4. enroll for a ballet class and then apply for a professional ballet academy

  5. Well - unfortunately most professional ballet dancers start learning between 3-6 years old.  You can start later but your chances dramatically decrease of becoming professional.  If you want to be a professional performer then 15 or over is a little too late to start.  However, if you want to teach dance it's okay to start anywhere in your teens (but the earlier the better).  This is because you need to develop a certain body shape and poise and this can take many years.

Sorry if this is bad news - I had the same problem.  So instead I learnt Ballroom dance (but again I was too old when I started to go 'pro' but I wanted to be a teacher anyway.) So it all turned out.

  6. try this site: Dancing: http://www.hollywood-opportunities.com/d...

they give their dancer members exclusive gigs and opportunities to perform and be paid too. Hollywood needs a lot of dancers.
