Is it best to study first? If so, what and where? Alot of IT jobs ask for people who are experienced, but a person needs to get an entry job in order to build the experience. So how does one do that?

    1. Yes, it is always best to have the knowledge. Makes life much easier.

    2. Get a degree in IT. Choose your area of interest and do a suitable training program. Get certified.

For e.g. Java, .Net, C++ etc in software and Microsoft, Linux, Unix etc in the Sstem admin area.

    3. When you first apply for the job dont look at salary. Look for a nice place where you will get enough exposure to learn. It will take a few years to be a pro. MOney will com once you have experience..

  5. Of course it's better to study first.  Would you want your doctor to learn on the job?

Find a college or university that offers classes in the area you want.  There are several areas of study - programming,  network administration, security, management...  take the classes and get a degree.  An associates is a start - a 4 year degree is better.  Many employers will take college graduates as entry level employees.
