How do you get into the post office because it can take years for the test to come any ideas?

Right now, they're in the process of voting on a labor contract between the USPS and National Assoc. of Letter Carriers.

If that contract is accepted by the membership, it calls for the hiring of Transitional Employees as letter carriers.

If you are able to become a TE, (lower wages and benefits) you will be offered the chance to take the Letter Carrier test and be eligible for priority hiring.

Most post offices have openings especially around Christmas for temprary help which can sometimes lead to full time work.  Talk to your local postmaster.
