How do you get involved in charities/program to help people that need food or heat? I don't need it myself.

    Oooh, check this out. My local utilities let me sponsor a family that meets certain requirements. Contact your local natural gas company and electric company, they may offer the same. You don't get to meet them, but ... you do get to help.
