How do you get involved with Red Cross internationally?

I'm considering becoming apart of Red Cross to help in other countries of the world

You have to become a specialist in a field needed by the International Red Cross, and have some experience with your local Red Cross as well. A specialist means a nurse, a doctor, a civil engineer, a vet, an expert in emergency logistics, transportation or communications, etc. Being able to work in a second language is also highly valuable.

The International Red Cross is *overwhelmed* with email, so don't email them directly -- it's a waste of time.

Be active first in your local Red Cross branch and if your work will be appreciated, you may be sent to an international assignment.
