They don't have a smell, just stains. Is there a way to remove the stains?

  1. Spray undiluted white distilled vinegar liberally onto the affected areas. Vinegar kills mold. Let it sit for several hours, ideally outside in the sun. Then, use warm, sudsy water (with 1/2 cup borax, if you have it) to wash it. Rinse it and let it dry in a clean, dry place.

  2. I have had great results when I soak in oxiclean, It doesn't hurt any fabric, whites or colors.

    This is what I do for stains;

    It takes out most every stain, in an hour to three days.

    dissolve 1/2 cup oxiclean powder in some hot water, in a bucket or large bowl. Add enough water so the item can soak. Add cold water after the oxiclean is dissolved when the item should not be in hot water. Let soak till the stain is gone.

    Each day Refresh the oxiclean and water. By draining the water and making a new mixture.

    I got hair dye and yellowing from age as well as under arm stains out, also will get bleeding from other colors out and mold & mildew out, just to name a few tough stains that can be gotten out!

  3. They need to be bleached.  Of course this will take the color out as well as the stains. But it's the only way I know of to kill mildew and get rid of mildew stains.  I've used products like Pine Sol in a wash before and while that deals effectively with the odors, it doesn't get rid of the stains.

  4. give peroxide a try
