How do you get oil/grease stains out of polyester golf shirts?

  1. The (original blue) Dawn dish soap will cut through grease

    rub some on both sides of the stain and wash in cold water


  2. Dawn dish soap is a great degreaser on clothing. Pour some Dawn on the oil/grease spots, rub it in to the fabric a little, then let it set. The longer the better, so the Dawn can do its job. Machine wash the shirt in cold water & if the stains are still there, use more Dawn dish soap on the stains. Never wash & dry the shirts unless the spots are gone. Heat from a dryer will only set the stains, making it next to impossible to remove.

  3. Put a little dishing detergent on the spot and rub in gently with a toothbrush. Wash in as hot of water as it says you can wash on the tags.

  4. I agree about Dawn working very well - try it in the sink first... don't dry it if you see the stain hasn't come out... then if that doesn't work you can try hand cleaner   GOOP - Wal-Mart automotive section... rub it in and it should start lifting the grease out.
