How do you get olympic 2012 tickets?

Does anyone know how to go about getting tickets for the 2012 London Olympics? When will they go on sale and how much will they cost?

I know the tickets for the Beijing games didn't go on sale until something like three weeks before the opening ceremony, so I'm guessing you won't be able to buy tickets for the London games anytime soon.

i went to sydney olympics.  you didn't buy tickets in advance, you went there and bought them a few nights before the event, unless it was opening or closing ceremonies.  the price varies widely depending on event, they can be anywhere from $30-150 per event (australian dollars) which translates to roughly $50-300 Americans
