  1. get connections... there is a diner in NYC where there are broadway "wannabees" were they r waiters but they also sing!! it was sooo kwl! its by the theatre were Hairspray is playing! its like star diner or something! it was a rly gr8 xperience 4 me!! o and sned ur headhsot and resume to agents and jsut get ur name out there!! Best of luck!

  2. What kind of experience do you have?

Just audition for as much as you can, even if it means you get one line in a whole performance...make it work, and then work your way up. If you are experienced enough you will be able to make yourself shine...people who shine, get noticed.

  3. You really need an agent and an Equity card.  Occasionally there are open calls, but Equity members are seen first and if there is any time left at the end of the day then non-Equity members are seen.  An agent will be able to get you appointments for closed auditions.

  4. Some Broadway shows have open equity calls for replacement casts. YOu can find these posted on the Actors Equity website - www.actorsequity.org and go to "casting calls".

Even though it's an equity call, non-equity actors can show up and wait to be seen (not a guarantee). So, if you go, get there early and be prepared to wait.
