How do you get over being shy? I really have a good voice, but I am always too shy to ever sing in front of other people.

  1. First sing infront of your most trusted person you know.

Eye contact makes it harder to sing aloud.  Don't make eye contact.  Look at the floor or ceiling then gaze around with no eye contact.

Try closing your eyes and pretend that you're alone in your room or fav place to sing.

    Try it in the dark.

    Good luck

  2. start by singing in the back ground like if you are in the car sing along to the music.. let your friends here you with out trying to show off... then when you are confident from the complements from people you know to by your self or with a few friends to a karaoke something... i don't know where you will find one but do something like that

  3. You just need to realize that other people aren't judging you.  In the real world, most people are too busy worrying about their own problems to put much thought into judging you.  Also, if you sing well, that's a gift that needs to be shared.  Remember, what's the worst that could possibly happen?  Also, remember that sometimes there's not much you can do about physical symptoms accept take a few deeps breaths.  Concentrate on your singing, get into it, connect with the song, and it will just flow.  Preparation also will make you more confident.  Go out and karaoke one night and do a song that you know like the back of your hand.  Practice ahead of time and make sure you know all the words and notes.  The more confident you are with the song, the more confident you will be overall.

  4. I'm working on the same thing :)

What's been working for me... is finding what I don't like about myself, then adjusting it untill I'm happy and proud. It might take a while, but you feel better and better.

I can kind of see "living" the moment, instead of thinking all sorts of negative things in my head - and freaking over what it is I have to do.

I don't know you... so I'm not sure if you're shy about your looks, or just your abilities... but when you are happy with yourself (working on the things you are not confident about) then it will be easier to sing for others.

What you think, and what you say to yourself about the situation... like, how you think people will react, or if you think it could go badly... you wont want to get up there and sing. Be patient with yourself, and you will share your voice with people.. confidently :)

  5. You do not completely get over shyness, but I think that with age and more life experiences you tend to become less shy.  With that said the best way to get over shyness is to be comfortable with yourself and your abilities.  If you like to sing and want to sing in front of people then go somewhere that you are able to, but make sure that the first few times you do their are not that many people there.  You are not afraid of singing in front of people, you are afraid of people judging you badly when you are singing.

  8. Alcohol. After a couple of shots, you won't be shy at all......

  9. Same HERE! but i sing at home alot. I guess it's just because I think other people might be better than me lol.

  10. My friend had the same problem. I didn't even know she could sing until I found a recording on her computer of her singing. I told her her voice was really good, and she started making more recordings and showing people. And everyone told her they were really good, so she wasn't even shy anymore. now she sings a lot..

  11. sounds like you need to take a toke or a few shots of liquor

  12. You can picture everyone in their underwear (doesn't really work). Or try acting like your alone in your room or somewhere you feel relaxed and don't look at the people look around them or you see their expressions and worry.

  13. start off singing just you and maybe a webcam and put it up on youtube we dont know you and arnt going to judge you.

theres also your family and close friends.

reach out to them and im sure they will be impressed
