  1. learn self hypnosis or hypno therapy

  2. unfortunately the only way to get over your fear is to go on a coaster. if you don't like the drop close your eyes and it won't feel as bad. Also just before the drop take a big breath as it helps.

    well good luck

  3. Just go on one and have fun i was scared to at first, but it's so much fun. I got on one for the first time at 12.

  4. By getting on them. Get on at least 3. You'll find out you like them.

Just like how to get rid of spider-phobias: Place a spider on your shoulder. =)

  5. I rode my first coaster at age 43--told myself that if nearly everyone does it, so can I. But I'd be glad to share the techniques I learned/invented. The key to the whole business is simple--the issue is not just fear of falling, it's fear of giving up control. So:

    1. Begin with a steel coaster. No matter their moves, wooden coasters seem to go faster because of the noise and our identifying wood with "rickety." The steel coaster also harnesses you more tightly--YOU BECOME PART OF THE TRAIN and can't fall out.

    2.  Begin with seats in the middle. Moves toward the front increase the sense of being pushed, and they're smooth. Move back and get a little sense of whip & snap.

    3. From any seat at all, if you feel disoriented, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE RAILS--it restores sensory and emotional control.

    Happy days.

  6. i was exactly like that

well i realized that most coasters go as fast as a car, and they drop you and put you upside down

but guess what....its safe, if it wasnt safe you would have to sign wavers to enter the park

trust me i love the feeling of drops now and i never used to

  7. Well my friend was like that he just had to ride the ride and he made sure r was holding on to the seat beat thing and he was fine just take yr time and clam down and your all good

    hope i helped

  8. well, to tell you the truth, roller coasters aren't that bad ones you get on them. So yeah you may feel like that but that's how it is, but it doesn't mean you will fall. Its really fun ones you try it.

  9. the drop is the best part. you just have to keep on going on roller coasters. you might never get use to the drop and still get butterflies, but thats the best part of rolleroasters

  10. Of course you can get over that fear. I was super scared of roller coasters like five years ago. But my older cousin said it would be fine if I got on a roller coaster. So i went on it, and I loved it. If you know the ride in Disney's California Adventure, I'm talking about California Screaming. This ride has a loop in it, so it was pretty scary since it was my first roller coaster. But ever since then, I have loved roller coasters, all kinds of them.

Oh and don't worry. It's just a fear of falling, but nothing ever really happens. They always make sure that you are secured on safely and they even have a detector on a screen to see if the seat isn't secured right.

Good luck and hope I helped! :]

  11. First off, there is nothing to be afraid of. Tons of people have a fear of roller coasters. It is one of the most common fears on earth.

Secondly, coasters are designed to scare you. That is exactly why they are made. Some people just don't know how safe they really are. In fact, every morning they run a maintenance check to make sure everything is safe. Also, every month is when they completly check and recheck every part of the cars. So the straps and belts are always good.

To get over the fear is just to ride one. I don't mean a 300 ft. tall mega-coaster. Slowly start out with small ones like mine trains. Then, move up to 50-100 foot coasters. They are not scary. Then you can try looping, corkscrewing, or higher-up coasters. Just move up to different levels until you are sure you can ride them without fear. I agree, it is hard to do. To stop yourself from freaking out, hold on to the bars tight and close your eyes. It will be over in a flash. Don't try to be scared either. Enjoy yourself and stop bad thoughts from coming through.

    I hope I helped,

    Matt from CA
