I have a Nokia phone and its a little bit old and I accidently pressed the security system and then the pin thing. It then asked me for the PUK code. How do you get past that or restore the phone's settings?

  1. call your service provider or go to their website to get the phones PUK code. Then, all you have to do is type the code in, and your phone will prompt you to set a new pin code, then your phone will be unlocked. There's no way around it. (this code is there to prevent people from stealing your phone/sim card and using it.)

***DO NOT use all your chances (for example, the phone will say "enter you PUK code, 9 chances remaining") If you use them all, this will cause the phone/simcard to become permanently disabled, and you'll have to buy another one, (which is a coupld hundred dollars.)

I hope this helps you! :-)

  2. The PUK code is like a safety net on the sim. This is to protect your information if the phone were to be lost/stolen. You will need to call your service provider for the PUK code and the PIN to unlock the sim.

If you try to guess the PUK code and enter it incorrectly too many times your sim will disable itself and you will need to purchase a new sim. A new sim for the company I work for is only about $10.

Additionally, for any pin numbers that your phone is requesting, you would want to look in your owner's manual for the default that comes in the phone from the manufacturer.
