  1. Go in another direction!  What do you do if you come to a brick wall?  Look for a window, look for a door, go around, go under, go over, or go through the wall brick by brick.  First, know the block for what it is, and then do anything you have to do to dissolve it, approach it from another direction, or come to terms with it's meaning.  Even a creative block means something, has a history, and presents a mystery to be solved.

When I can't write songs, I write slogans, doodle, arrange and rearrange, put down raw ideas, learn other people's songs, read, watch movies, and get out and about.  Don't focus on what you can't do, explore everything that you can do.  Creativity is jealous and will give up it's secrets if it thinks you are not paying enough attention to it.  Hope this helps.

  2. I enjoyed all these guys answers, i would take them all into account... you need to constanly be feeding your brain with new ideas and experiences so they can be prosessed and come out as new work... this can take a very long time... i have had creative blocks that have lasted months or even a couple of years, and its the experiences i have had during these blocks which lead to the brilliant new ideas and  creative flow...  learn to take the blocks as they come and dont get anxious or upset by them... in the mean time take some practical advise from me; re-organise your workspace, if its messy - clean it.. have a change around .. move your desk , sort through old work, de-clutter...

  3. After coming upon several creative roadblocks in life.  I realized that if I could take my mind completely away from the venue where the block occurs and feed it other creative food.

(i.e flowers, a museum, a good book,  draw, sing, enjoy a person's company.) eventually a creative spark would occur and the old artform would be back online.
