My 2 year old drew all over my wooden desk with a purple sharpie. What can I use to get it off?

  1. Different markers need different solvents,Meths often works,so does nail varnish remover.Stronger solvents may dissolve the varnish or lacquer on the wood,so try a small dab with a brush and blot it off straight away.If the colour is on the dabbing tissue you will get it off.You could try a bit of spit on your finger first.Sometimes even white wine will shift it,you can always finish the bottle off to celebrate.

  2. I think that I have used all the things mentioned.  Murphy's Oil Soap (as mentioned before has always done well for me.  I was told once that mechanic's hand cleaner is good for removing.  I'm not certain about this since I've never tried it.  i wish you luck in your efforts.

  3. I would try the magic eraser or Murphy's oil soap. Murphy's has been good to me in the battle against wood vs toddler lately! Good luck

  4. Depending the type of furniture, nail polish remover works.  You just don't want to strip the finish.

  5. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works in my experience.
