How do you get picked to be a part of People to People ?

Question

I just recently received a letter, entailing that I was chosen to be apart of the People to People student ambassador program. It seems like a great opportunity, but I am confused as to why I was chosen?

If you could help me, and tell me if they chose at random, or if they chose because of prerequisites a person has or something of that kind it would be very appreciated.

Also, if you were ever a part of People to People, and could give me advice or tell me how it was, that would be terrific!

It would really help with my decision to go or not.

I just asked my daughter who participated in People to People.

According to her you have to be nominated.  You can be nominated by a parent, teacher or someone who has participated.

My daughter recently got a letter from them asking for nominees.
