How do you get pictures from a camera to a computer when there is no USB port on the computer?

Are you sure there is no USB port?  Did you check BOTH the back AND the front?  Do you have a firewire port?  If so, what happened to the USB?

Most computers have USB ports on both the front and the back; however some computers now only have the ports on the front (often behind a door).  Few current computers will only have the USB ports on the back.  All computers sold since 2001 have both firewire and usb ports.

***  Also disturbing is that if you do not have a firewire port on the camcorder, it must be very old - probably over the shoulder VHS or original 8mm (not Digital8).  If that is true, then you probably do have an old computer.  If this computer is old and it does not have a USB connection, you must be on the internet through a dial up modem with a serial port connection!!!  USB and the original 10mb NICs came out at almost the same time.

That must be a very old PC, but you should be able to add a USB card.

No USB port? Oh my that must be a really old computer. You can buy a usb card and install it. Also while you are at it, if your camcorder is a minidv, you better buy a firewire card and install it too. But before you go to any expense, make sure your computer can support those cards.
