The sperm swims up the falopian tube, where it will meet an egg. One of the sperm will eventually get into the egg, and then cells start multiplying etc...to form a zygote. It then sticks to the wall of the womb, and is then an embryo. As it develops it turns to a foetus. 9 months later theres your baby!

The baby is in a sac 'amniotic sac', filled with fluid to protect the baby. This fluid is what comes out when your waters break.

The egg that i mentioned earlier is released from one of your overies.

Also, there is a thing called a placenta. This attaches you and the baby. It gives food to the baby, and stops bad things from getting through and into the baby.
