  1. What you have to do is call the hospital and ask for the medical records dept...you might have go to the hospital and sign a release form for them to copy your records.. they will give you a time you can pick them up..they might charge you per page usually the first copy is free but every hospital policy is different. Also check with your Dr's office as well if you were hospitalized they usually send a copy to your primary care it might be easier to get copies.

Also you can not request a copy of anyone else's medical records(expert your children in your custody or if the Power of attorney of the person)  because HIPPA it is a law in place to protect your medical privacy.

  2. I assume you want your own records (or those of your children).  You can't get anyone else's unless you have medical power of attorney for them.  All you have to do is call the hospital and ask for the Records Dept.  Then tell them what you want and ask when you can pick them up.  You'll have to bring a government issued picture ID to show when you get them.  Obviously, they won't mail them to you.

  3. The above person is right. Because of confidentiality, you can ask for any of your own, or your children's, but nobody else's.

  4. well you cant get them unless they are for you, or your spouse or children, you just have to request them....you cant just go get anyones records tho
