How do you get rid of ,mainly, white mold?

Some friends of mine resently rented a house only to find that the basement, which one of them was going to live, was full of white mold. How can they kill this mold?

if it was the basement floor- it's not mold, it is salt.

If you put bleach in a spray bottle and spray it on the mold, it will kill it.
