How do you get rid of Black Ants?

Question

Recently, out house has been overrun with Black Ants. No, not the big ones, but the small ones.

They are everywhere! In the Fruit Bowl, In the Cabinets, in the Linen Closet, Everywhere.

I have already set out the Ant Food that is Poisoned about three weeks ago, and the ants are still every where.

Do any of you have any tips on how I can get rid of the little beasts?

POUR OIL IN THE ANT HOLE NEAR BY YOUR HOUSE THEN PUT IT MATCH IN IT

Yeah..My grandmom she wipes everything down with bleach. The counter tops. The sink. Now we don't see them anymore.

Make sure you don't have a wet counter. Or wet sink. Cause it attracts ants. Keep everything dry. And don't leave food around or dirty dishes in the sink. Also check you garbage if it smells take it out.

An exterminator friend of mine told me that chalk or baby powder makes it a barrier that the ants will not cross. put it on window sills, doors, cracks......that'll stop them.

do not hire exterminator. They will charge you tons of money.

you can do it yourself. Sprinkle out Cinnamon. They hate the smell. Buy some traps.

Get a bottle of Terro.  It's a concentrated poison that you put out in jar lids or bottle caps and put in the places you are seeing the ants.  They feed on the stuff and take it back to the nest with them.  The Terro then kills the whole nest.

It's available at some grocery, hardware and discount stores.  It works great but does take a few days to a week to totally knock down a problem but you will see a huge difference in a couple of days.  You might even have to refill your lids/caps with a few more drops after a couple of days to keep them in good supply.

You can purchase this little box called ridex at  your local Ace Hardware.Around $20 bucks. It plugs into the wall and emits a high frequency that deters most if not all kinds of insects,rodents,etc.
