  1. You can do it the old fashioned way with warm water and yeast. Dip them in it repeatedly.

  2. This was a real problem for me until I found  Advantage Flea Killer for Cats. You put a dose of the liquid on the cat's skin on the back of neck and the flea killer travels throughout the cat's body within a day, killing any fleas that  take a bite from your cat. You will do this monthly for at least 3 months.

Very simple. Very effective. Very expensive. But worth it compared to the stress of shampooing and/or spraying with lethal poisons.

Sorry about the brand name. I do believe there are others. You have to buy them all at the vet's. Your vet will give you good advice as to which brand name is best for your cat.

You also have to treat your house. Make sure you vacuum your house thoroughly after you apply the flea killer to the cat. The flea eggs will be on the floor and when they hatch they will jump back on your pet (or your legs in the absence of a better tasting animal.) Vacuum, spray the bag with flea killer and then throw it out - or the fleas will hatch in the bag, escape and then jump back on the cat. Vacuuming will have to be done often at the beginning in order to get rid of the fleas all hatching at different times.

If you have a difficult infestation, you may have to spray your carpet/house floors.  Follow the instructions on your chosen house flea killer spray.

Best is to have no carpets in your house if you have animals. Carpets  act as little flea nests. It is much easier to sweep flea eggs off the floor.

  3. Bring him/her to the vet to get a flea treatment. Bring him/her to the vet around ones a month to get the treatment. That should work.

  4. use one of the quality flea products like frontline, advantage, stay away from the cheap ones like boi spot & hartz products the are organophosphates and can hurt your cat, bomb your house with with a product that has PRECORE in it , it will kill all stages of fleas..you may have to do this for a couple of months ,but it will get the problem under control, hope it helps

  5. Give your cat a bath in Dawn dish washing soap. This  will kill the fleas but won't harm your cat. While your doing this, take a flea comb and try to get some of the fleas off. When you are done, wash you cat down real good with warm water to get the rest of the fleas off.

After you do this, spray your house real good so that your cat won't get anymore fleas.

    Good luck!

  6. If it's bad there's only one answer and it's not cheap .  You need to buy frontline or advatage flea treatment.  Not the generic stuff - it doesn't work.  Hate to say it but now the fleas are in your house too so you need to clean and kill all the stuff in your house- wash all linens etc.  so that they don't reattach themselves to your cats or you.  The treatment is for 3 months at about 45 bucks.

  7. We use Frontline.

It's no good just doing the cat's. Sometimes you need to do the furniture and carpets aswell. You will know if there are fleas in your carpets by putting a bowl of hot water down on them.Fleas think it's a blood-food supply and jump in.

  8. submerge cat in deep water for about 2 days then go and buy a dog!

  9. Flea collars may be useful but only when used along with other flea killing substances. Also, keeping the area around your place clean can reduce the chances of fleas surviving outside your pet’s fur coat. Keep your carpets and mattresses clean and spray some of the flea powder, as that will definitely kill majority of the fleas. Also, spray in your garden to keep the flea population in check.
