For about a month now, we have a visits from a Black Bear. He tears everything up outside. One early morning(4am) we found him with his nose pressed against the glass looking in at a trash back that was INSIDE the house, laying against the sliding glass door. (waiting for my husband to take it to work.)We live on the side of a mountain, way back in the woods, and have 4 small children. Last night, he tore the propane tank off of our grill, and licked it clean!!! (it had some grease on it) I want to respect the nature around us, but is there anything I can do to keep him away from my home??(NO, we do not keep our trash outside)

  1. Shoot him.

    That's the easiest question ever.

  2. call the fish and game commission

  3. shoot it

  4. don't put anything outside unless needed...

  5. Quit Giving him anything at all to eat. Clean your grill carefully, Keep your trash locked up where he can not find it, get to it or even smell it! and if all else fails call your dept. of wildlife and ask him to be removed!

  6. ahh, he IS presenting a threat to your children.....i live amongst bears as well....if you call the state they will either trap and relocate the bear (which sounds like what you want) or tell you to shoot it (a more common response where i live).

relocation is usually only a temporary fix, the bears will travel hundreds of miles to return to a "sure thing".....

  7. Call either the Orkin Pest Control Man, Siegfried & Roy, or Grizzly Adams.

  8. call your local Fish and Game people, they generally have someone responsible for trapping (humanely) and relocating problem bears.

  9. Shoot the bear and then eat it. Black Bear meat is quite tasty, sometimes a little greasy.
