  1. you can get some wasp spray that can spray up to 25 feet. *Make sure you have a clear pathway to retreat after spraying.... *wait a while go back and check and respray if needed.

  2. Yellow jackets usually nest in the ground. Gas is usually the best killer. Just be careful throwing it up on the nest. Wear gloves and jump back as you throw.

  3. Use wasp/hornet spray.  There are two types--foaming and clear.  I find that the foaming sticks better while the clear stuff shoots further and stronger and will shoot a hole right through a hornet nest.  Both do an admirable job of killing them on contact and have a residual effect.  I go through about 10 cans a year.

  4. Whatever you do its best to wait till night! We got the fogger stuff it works good. Lessons in buying a old house 101 there are bug nests everywhere outside!!!

  5. Just use a broom and knock it down, be careful they will start to swarm so get ready to run back into the house right away. After awhile you can go out and step on the nest and throw it away. That's what I do, but be careful I've never been stung but I hear it hurts.

  6. If it is a big paper nest and you have nerves of steel here is how to do it. We had one above our door and after I got stung I made it a mission to get rid of them. My buddy said wait until dark when they are all inside the nest and we,ll get rid of them. So after dark we moved a kitchen chair under the nest. I shone a flashligh on the nest while he took a paper grocery bag and put it over the nest. My wife handed him a knife which he cut the nest into the bag. He twisted the bag closed and I ran thinking like a cartoon they would saw a hole through the bag and attack. They didn,t. Man you could hear them swarming mad in the bag so I drenched the bag in gasoline and torched it. Voila! everyone was instantly fried. If the yellow jackets don,t have a paper nest, then a mixture of dawn dishwashing liquid and water in a spritzer bottle like windex that will shoot a straight stream works awesome and kills them faster than raid. I put about a quarter of the dawn and top it off with water and shake it up.

  7. They come back to the nest in the evening, around sundown.  Get a can of wasp and hornet spray, wait until dark, and go out and spray them.  Most of the sprays will spray about 8-10', and pretty much kill them instantly.  Good luck!
