  1. Nasty fumes, don't burn it.

Skill saw would work and so would a saw-zall. Just make sure you have a suitable blade for the job.

You can buy a zoot suit (fiberglassers use these often) for pretty cheap. It's worth it if you don't want be saturated in fiberglass dust.

Of course you want a respirator or a dust mask.

Chop it up, and off to the dump you go.

If it's not too bad you might be able to donate it to the Boy (or Girl) Scouts, and get a tax write off out of the deal.

  2. I brought a 19' fiberglass boat that I didn't want anymore to the city dump.  The guy there said you weren't supposed to bring stuff that big there, but he said he'd turn his head for me.  I tied the stern cleats with a line to a huge cement block, and then drove away and it slid off the trailer beautifully.  I came back later and slipped the guy a 12 pack of beer for his help.  I later sold the trailer for a few hundred dollars, to pitch in for my next boat.

  3. I wouldn't suggest trying to burn a fiberglass boat.  I have seen someone cut one up with a circular saw (i.e., skill saw) and dispose of it in a dumpster.  They were itchy for a couple of days...

  4. Put a sign on it that says, "FREE BOAT!" Someone will take it off your hands!
