How do you get rid of an unwanted ghost?

Actually, a combination of what Trish and J Doe is usually what people try first. You can tell it to head for the light and they will be greeted to a better place. If that doesn't work then you can try ordering it out first as J. Doe suggested and if that don't work but, in many cases it does but, not always, try the sage burning as Trish suggested that has been used for eons starting with Native Americans. If none of the above work, then try having a clergyman bless the house. This does not always work either but you have to try what ever you can. But, lastly you may have an entity there that feels it has a purpose for being there, in this case, I'm afraid your stuck with it. Good sugjestions you guys. As far as the other answers you got goes. These are people with no knowledge on the subject at all and can only show their lack of knowledge by showing their stupidity.

Asking them to stop or leave has always worked for me.

If that does not work then you must do a "Cleansing" on the home or area that may have unwanted activity.

Tell them to go away.  It actually works.  It's possible the spirit is still around but it usually does not take the liberties it took prior to your ordering it to leave your home.
