How do you get rid of an unwanted programme from pc?

If the Add/Remove thing doesn't work?

I might be because that particular programme can't be un-installed,..as some of them are like that once they are on you're PC.

(I've had the same thing to!)

To get rid of a Programme you don't want,..there is another way of doing this.You need to finding where it was installed

On you're system.

It will usually list all the stuff installed on you're PC if you click the Start>All Programmes>,..it will show it here,..and you can usually un-install stuff,..as well as look at  Manuals etc etc.

usually you do the add/remove in the control panel but if that isnt working mabye you should get help by ringing one of those it techintions at shops like pc world and currys.

Use RevoUninstaller:

It's faster and better than add / remove applet.

When you run it highlight the item then select uninstall in next window select Advanced and click Next, follow prompts when uninstalled it will scan registry and drive for leftover files / folders, tick ONLY the bold items and follow prompts.

It depends on the program.

If it is a spyware/malware program such as Hotbar, you may need to download additional software to remove it.

Did you try Ad-Aware?

Does Add/Remove not work, or is it not listed? If not listed, you may be able to delete the folder that it is in, depending on the program. Sometimes they will write entries into the registry, but please don't try editing the registry as you can severely damage your computer, even to the point where it may need formatting and rebuilding.

Go to where the program is in the menu of all programs and see if there is an install there.

Restore the computer back to a point where you did not have the program.

or

Find its file in the windows program files and delete it - can cause problems this but if you are desperate.....

Note, some programs not uninstall if their still running, look on the taskbar, right click and click exit

a good tip for you.

try~unplug modem router~so you are off line .now try to uninstall,

some programs when you are online will cause this problem if you try to uninstall.

Go to your tray, start, search and type in the name of the program.  The let your PC search for all related files for that program.  Delete them from the bottom up.   Then go to tray, start and open run and type in : c://program files and double click on browse, open program files and if you see the file delete.

Should any file not open either in search or run, saying file is write protected or is being used by another file, reboot and try the second time, usually this will delete the file.  

Still if not ctc. and I will send you free software that will delete any write protected file or file saying is being used by another file.
