  1. It would be best to figure out first what ant you are dealing with.  Considering that they are in the kitchen I would guess that you are seeing Odorous House Ant.  The Gourmet Ant Bait is fantastic.

  2. hire and inspector !!!http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... can you please look at my question

  3. I couldn't believe it at first, but amazingly works.  Wished I'd learn of it's existence years ago.  Ant chalk.

  4. the proper thing would be to get the ant identified as to now know if you need to address it with a sugar or protein based bait or if a liquid treatment is actually what you need or knowing what type of ant they are may let you know that  they me one of the species that if you spray for them it actually makes the problem worse

  5. Terro ant killer works!  It's available in grocery stores and places like Wal-Mart.  I hate ants too and this stuff works in less than 3 days.

You put it out (follow the directions!), they eat it and take it back to the nest and poison the whole thing!

The Terro is reasonably cheap and a bottle lasts a LONG time!  I've tried others and I keep going back to this stuff.

  6. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

  7. I had lots of ant problems too. Inside of the house i have to use ant spray, but to prevent them from coming into the house in the first place is to get some lawn bug killer. For ant mounds, use a spray for immediate control, and for complete yard control, use a granule lawn pest control. The granule form can't be applied in rainy weather, however.

If it is exremely bad all over right now,  u could get some pest control company out, but the above is good preventative on regular basis. I found hiring pest control to be expensive.

  8. Just get some of the liquid ant bait. Don't be too fussy about the brand. Pour a little onto a canning jar lid or some other nearly flat vessel (so the ants can climb up to the liquid) and let them do the work. They drink their fill which will kill them within a day or so but in the mean time they pack some back to nest and feed it to the larvae, poisoning them too, which ends the cycle.

  9. Use Ant Baits

  10. An green way of deterring the ant is to use either Borax or vinegar or a combination of both. Sprinkle a line of Borax around the  base  of walls, points of entry etc or spray vinegar outside around the outside of your house and points of entry. The ants won't cross Borax or vinager. Another safe alternative to chemical ant killers, spray a solution of Dawn and water on any surfaces where ants like to hang out. After wiping dry, there will be a thin film left behind which is offensive to ants. Make as many “ant-free” zones as needed without fear of harm to children or pets!

  11. I used to have ant problems but did some research and wrote an article on various ways to eliminate ants.  Take a look and see if any of these suggestions will help.
