How do you get rid of backgrounds?

Like on website such as iStockphoto, you get a picture which has a subject it in, but the background is compeltely white. How do they achieve that?

  2. Yes, you can remove backgrounds in post processing. Your  results will depend on the photo, but will never be as good as when it is done in camera.

    Stock photos are carefully arranged in light tents and/or studios, with much thought given to the background and lighting.

  3. Hi Jimmy

    If you use Photo-shop or Corel, you can use the magic wand and then, invert the mask . Now, just copy and paste to a new page and from that point, you can use the feather option to smothern the edge a little.

    Save it with no background. Now open any background you like, and copy / paste the first image to it. You can resize by using the corner handles or via the resampling tool.
