How do you get rid of canker sores in your mouth?

I have a canker sore on my lip (no it is not a cold sore). I know it usually takes about 2 weeks to get rid of them, but it hurts and when I get one I usually get two or three.

I was just wanting to know a few different ways of getting rid of them.

I have 2 in my mouth right now =[ It always happens when i change toothpaste or something like that. I wish i knew how to get rid of them. When you know let me know =]

I use alum. It think its something they use in making pickles (its in the spice aisle) and it tastes really bad! but it works. :)

I've had good luck using a strong antiseptic mouthwash. It hurts a bit the first couple of times but they go away quicker and heal faster. Good luck.
