How do you get rid of caterpillars ? from my cabbages?

  1. Good question! We used Scotts Bug Clear Gun which is the one recommended by the RHS and it seemed to work well to start with, but 2 weeks later we've noticed they're creeping back and you are only allowed to use the spray once on a crop. Not sure if this new lot were eggs laid after the spraying, we really should have covered the crops with netting after spraying so you could try that, hopefully it should work.


  2. The best and safest cure is an organic pesticide called Bt (Bacillus thuringensis). It is a bacterium that has no effect on humans but serious effects on caterpillars. Because the bacterium is harmless to humans, you do not need to worry about pesticide residues on your food.

  4. if this is a home garden, just pick them off....

    but Bt is by far the best method if there's too many to pick off....
