Question:

How do you get rid of eye booger/mucus?

Many people have sticky/crusty eye mucus in their eyes, especially when waking up in the morning. But how can I get rid of the small amount of eye mucus (the soft, sticky type) that goes inside the eye and gets in the way of my sight? I've tried to flush it water, but the thin layer of mucus won't go away. I tried gently rubbing my eyes to get them out through the corners of my eye, but that only caused dryness and irritation. What can I do? It's so frustrating, because my vision is blurred everytime this thing moves to the middle portion of my eyes. Is there any home remedy to temporarily get rid of it before I go to see my optomologist? Please help me. 10 points for best answer!

  1. Bathe your eyes with cotton wool balls dipped in salty water;  you could use the saline bought from pharmacies for cleaning contact lenses.  This will help to stop the stickyness as well as help remove it in the morning.

Make sure you wash your hands very well with soap before touching near your eyes.

  2. similar problem here.  http://www.ehealthforum.com/health/topic...

  3. your pharmacy probably has some products with saline in it that can help you flush out the problem your having. or your doctor might have to prescribe something stronger that will work, to get rid of that problem. I noticed that contact wash has saline in it, you might want to try using that.
