My ferrets have fleas. On and off, this has been going on. They will go away for a while, then come back. I've used special spray for the carpets, I've used ointment on the ferrets from the vet..Any suggestions?

  1. hey there, fleas are pesky bugs.  At the same time you treat your pets, you need to bomb the house for fleas. Remember fleas lay eggs and can jump, so they aren't just in the one area. you need to re-bomb your house and re-treat your pets in a week to 10 days after the first treatment and make sure your pets are out of the house for a few hours while you do this.

  2. My friend used Borax to put in the carpets.  Vacuum first to wake up the fleas, then lay the borax down over night. Vacuum.  Make sure that after each time you vacuum you throw away the bag or empty the canister outside - away from the house or apartment.  To get rid of these things can take a few weeks.  Also, try those flea bombs that you can buy at the store.  Set off the bombs, and take your ferrets with you.  I wish you luck.

  3. You've got to clean everything in the house. Blankets/sheets hot water wash. Lots of cleaning and vacuuming. There are still eggs that keep hatching

  4. Get a fumigator/exterminator man. They will do all of your house and sometimes the ferrets, just look in the yellow pages, if you don't have one then on the internet!

  5. use the vet ointment on the ferrets, then use flea bombs in the house. follow directions accordingly. you can find them in a regular store. make sure you have no animals in the house when you set them off!!!
