How do you get rid of flies in backyard?

I have this big bush in my backyard. It just had flowers come out on it and its attracting flies by the hundreds. I cant go outside without them all over. Fly traps have caught a lot, but its no where near the amount . I thought they were only attracted to waste. I guess its giving off a smell or something. Its gross. Anybody know what to do?

Get rid of the bush.  If the problem is gone, the flies are too.  It is easy to replace any bush from a garden store, WalMart, or Lowe's.

Hang lots of clear-plastic bags filled with water and one penny in the bottom. It worked for us for years.
