try citronella candles if you are entertaining outside, or smoke from a fire keeps them away.  There are foggers you can buy for mosquitoes but I don't know what they contain.

Encourage bats and/or dragonflies to live on your property. Both prey on mosquitos (dragonflies eat mosquito larvae). Other than that, eliminate any standing water which gives mosquitoes a place to lay eggs.

There are several natural plant oils that repel mosquitos, including cinnamon and peppermint oil.  You can use a bit of these on yourself as repellent, or you could plant these plants around your yard to help keep them off of your property.  The website below also has several other great tips on things you can do to make yourself less attractive to mosquitos.
