How do you get rid of muscle pains in just a night?

I was playing lots of tennis since Monday (yesterday) for about 6 hours (with many breaks in between) and today my muscles are in A LOT of pain on my right shin, right arm, back (only when I stretch into a certain position so my back is in the shape of a U) and the upper part of the soles of my left foot.

How can I get rid of these pains in just a night? I really don't want to hurt myself so much tomorrow.

I tried deep heat, but that doesn't help me at all.

I also tried a hot bath with bath salts and stuff, but that also didn't help me one bit. In fact, I get the feeling it made it worse.

Help? PLEASE!?

  1. I have been using zanaflex . It is a muscle relaxer and is not a controlled med and is non addictive<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

  2. Stretching.  Slow and easy, progressing from a small bit of movement to as far as you can go.  Do this for a bit, then wait a couple of hours and do it again.  It won't rid you of pain completely but it will help.

Deep tissue massage in combination with stretching will help also.

Also get your daily ration of water (8 cups or so) as a hydrated muscle can recover more quickly.

Most likely the pain will be there for 2 to 3 days, but with regular stretching and plenty of water it should be greatly reduced by day 2.
