How do you get rid of the hissing sound you hear when you plug in your headphones into your laptop?

There shouldn't be any hissing noise in your headphones.  There's a couple things to try.  A different headset to see if that is somehow causing the hiss,  but I doubt it.  Or just put the headset on without being connected to your computer and see if you hear the hiss.  It might be like a sea shell that you hear the ocean in when placed over your ear.  It just makes the ambient noise sound like the ocean.  If it's not the headset or an ambient noise problem you'll have to take your laptop in for repair.
