How do you get rid of the purple tentacle things in Too Human?

Maybe I'm retarded, maybe this game is too confusing, but can someone tell me how I get rid of these?

Double tap RS to toss them in the air then jump up and air juggle them.  Or a ruiner will usually kill them right away.
