  1. dish soap.

make a mixture of about 4 cups of water and one table spoon of dish detergent. Use a mister and use it to cover the plants and top layer of soil. Bye bye bugs!

  2. Put out shallow dishes (jar caps do nicely) with vinegar laced with a bit of liquid dish detergent.

  3. I used to have that problem - then I cut back to watering plants only one day a week (and I am in dry Colorado).  The bugs were gone.  I asked someone in the bug-killing field and he confirmed my suspicions - they are caused by over-watering.  Let the plants dry out between waterings and that will get rid of them for you!

  4. For gnat like insects- You may wish to Google this topic eg, "how to get rid of gnats" (?)

Then if no luck try sprays from your local super market.

    cheers.

  5. yes, over watering is the answer...they are fungus gnats and cutting back on watering causes the fungus to die and therefore gets rid of the gnats.

Until this can be achieved, you can use a puff ot two of pyretherin (fly spray, dairy barn spray) over the plant in the air or just in the room. additionally a time mist dispenser using a can of this can be purchased and is quite effective if the problem is a recurring one even after cutting back on watering. (Check local Hdwe store or farm and garden store) Approx $35.00 unit and $8.00 per can that lasts 30 days

Another suggestion is a flyweb light trap unit, approx $40.00. u can find online this comes with sticky trap and is pesticide free.

    Amazon has here:

you might can shop price and find better on ebay
