How do you get rid of water spots on windows?

I have a 2000 Honda Accord... Not that it really matters... but when I bought it, it had water spots all over the windows. I guess it had been sitting out in the drive way all summer when the sprinklers were on. So now I'm wondering what products should I use to get rid of it. I've tried washing it out with regular soap and water but that doesn't seem to work.

  1. Once you Washh the car i get windex and spray it on the window. then wipe it of very tthoroughly If that ddoesn'twork then get some aAwesomeand spray it on the widows and wipe it off.

  2. Get some good glass cleaner aerosol type and some steel wool. Spray the cleaner on the windows and use the steel wool to get the water spots out same way as cleaning with paper towels use circular motions and some pressure this will get the spots out. After its all out use rain x or wax on the windows to prevent any further spots in the future. Oh one more thing don't try this on the inside windows if they are tinted.

  3. its probably calcium from when the water dried. try a mixture of white vinegar and water. also use coffee filter to wipe.

if that doesnt help seek a professional detail shop that can "buff" the windshield. they can use a very mild abrasive compound to take off those spots.

  4. Try a vinegar and water solution to dissolve the minerals.

  5. I think it is beyond vinegar or windex.  You can try rubbing compound and buff it out as you would on the paint (I am pretty sure the paint need it too).

Another would be using swimming pool acid on a rag, that would remove the water spot.  You'll just have to be very careful not getting it on your hand or the paint.  Personally, I would go with the acid because it is easier.

  6. try diluting some vinegar in the water when you wash the car.

That will usually take care of the hard water spots you describe.

  7. vinegar followed by dry newspaper, works well

  8. Uh...glass cleaner? Try Windex.
